Air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year. As we know, transport is a major contributor to both air pollution and CO2 emissions.
As governments around the world set targets to reduce the carbon in our atmosphere, it is estimated that by 2025, 20% of all cars sold will be electric. This will have a huge impact on reducing air pollution but also, with lower running costs and being cheaper to maintain, will help to generate significant cost savings.
Big organisations with big fleets, like the Metropolitan Police and many central government departments, are already making a real transition to electric vehicles and, with government targets coming into play, we can expect more businesses to follow suit.
So how ready are countries around the world to adopt electric vehicles? Arcadis’ new research ranks countries readiness and explores what we can learn from other countries leading the way.
As part of our Road to Net Zero webinar series, we have assembled a panel of industry experts to share their views on the transition to EVs in their various countries.
