Passionate About Helping Clients Achieve Their Sustainability Goals

Robinsons Land Corporation, an industry leader in real estate development in the Philippines, has set a goal to design and build new sustainable projects. This is in line with its sustainability efforts for responsible growth, wherein it creates resilient spaces, focusing on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, negative impact mitigation and efficient land use promotion.

With sustainability-driven ambitions in mind, rising green buildings that champion its sustainability goals is imperative. To help fulfill this, RLC chose Arcadis Philippines Inc. (API) as its LEED consultant for the project.

The solution

Makings of a Sustainable Building

Our team worked closely with the client and project team to identify sustainable design and construction features that would result in the LEED certification of the new office towers. A feasibility study was done through a review of the current design documents to ensure that all prerequisite requirements and additional sustainability features to gain points are integrated into every stage of the design and construction process.

We provided technical support and recommendations involving sustainable building practices and strategies, which would maximize energy and water efficiency, minimize waste, and recommend sustainable building materials that would contribute to the certification. Our provision of full technical support from project conception to building turnover helped RLC achieve its sustainability goal, resulting in a LEED-certified project, which was a first for the Western Visayas region.

The impact

Building and Winning Together as One Team

Cybergate Towers 1 and 2 shall be remembered as the first LEED-certified project in Western Visayas, paving the way to more green buildings in the region. Their design was made environmentally and economically sustainable through energy and water savings, hitting two birds with one stone in reducing carbon emissions and fostering cost-efficient operations. This also simultaneously caters to the needs of users by providing accessibility, mobility, and good indoor air quality, making the towers socially sustainable just as well.

The collaborative efforts of the client team, project manager, general contractor, designers, and API, resulted in a 33,000 sqm office buildings that hold the environment and its users with high regard.
