Hong Kong, 30 December 2025 – New World Development and China Resources Land (Overseas) have officially broken ground on the first phase of a major joint residential development in Yuen Long South, marking a significant milestone in the government’s ambitious Northern Metropolis initiative. Arcadis has been appointed as the project’s Quantity Surveying consultant, providing comprehensive pre- and post-contract QS services. Arcadis representatives joined the ceremony to commemorate this important occasion and reinforce the company’s commitment to shaping Hong Kong’s urban future.
The project, situated in the heart of the planned Northern Metropolis—Hong Kong’s new engine for future growth and a cornerstone of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative—covers a total gross floor area of approximately 720,000 square feet and will be delivered in phases. The first site, following the completion of the land-premium payment, will provide around 700 residential units, with sales targeted for fiscal 2027. Upon full completion, the two planned projects are expected to deliver a total of approximately 1,800 homes, contributing to the region’s housing supply and urban transformation.
