This distinction was awarded through IWBI’s WELL v2, the latest version of the WELL Building Standard.
WELL is the premier global rating system for buildings and organizations committed to advancing human health and well-being through evidence-based design and operational practices. Achieving the country’s first WELL Certified™ Platinum for Interiors, the highest level of certification, not only demonstrates Ayala Corporation’s commitment to providing an exceptional work environment that prioritizes employee health, well-being, and productivity, but also positions Ayala as one of the select few corporate headquarters in Southeast Asia to attain this prestigious distinction.
Arcadis, the leading global design and consultancy firm for built assets, provided WELL advisory services through the Sustainability Solutions team of Arcadis Philippines Inc. (API), helping Ayala Corporation, widely recognized as a pioneering force in Philippine business with a legacy that spans over 190 years, set a new benchmark for healthy office environments.
API’s Sustainability Solutions team has been at the forefront of WELL certification in the region, previously supporting clients in achieving significant milestones, including Southeast Asia’s first WELL Certified™ Gold office tower. API guided Ayala Corporation in applying comprehensive design and operational strategies to fulfill the rigorous requirements of the Platinum level. This close collaboration has ensured that every aspect of the new three-level headquarters promotes health and wellness.
Key features of the certified space:
- Advanced air quality management: Continuous air quality monitoring systems and high-efficiency filtration remove airborne pollutants and allergens, supporting ongoing reporting and future recertification.
- Workplace nourishment and water quality: On-site food provisions implement WELL Nourishment features that exceed typical workplace offerings, paired with filtered water systems for drinking and hand washing.
- Optimal thermal comfort and emissions tracking: Zoned HVAC controls with responsive mechanical design ensure consistent comfort (WELL Features T01 and T04). In addition, Ayala Corporation has proactively completed organization-wide accounting of Scope 1 and 2 emissions, satisfying the WELL Innovation concept requirement.
